Do I need to fast before I get my blood drawn?
Fasting means you have dinner the night before, but do not have breakfast in the morning before your blood draw. Fasting includes avoiding coffee as coffee can affect certain levels.
Tests that typically require fasting include all cholesterol panels (including Boston Heart Health and Parsley's Baseline Heart Health) and insulin.
Your doctor has noted in the "Plan" section at the bottom of your note whether or not you need to fast. If you are not sure, write to your doctor before you plan to get testing.
